Working with Crowe continues to be a great opportunity for Motivity Pictures. The people that we work with are amazing. In the business of production I would call Crowe a company who “gets it.” They know what they want and they go for it. Crowe also understands the importance of stepping back and trusting us to get the job done.

In this particular case our focus was really to promote the job opportunities that exist at Crowe. Whether or not you are fresh out of college or have been in business for years our job was to show why Crowe could be the perfect fit for someone.

We shot in downtown Chicago as well as Indianapolis. When we do interviews we really want to do two things. One, tell a story and two, focus our audiences attention on the persons being interviewed.

We do the first by really focusing heavily on “B-Roll” footage. We ask ourselves what elements of the interview can we show visually. Does the individual talk about their family, or maybe a unique experience? Our job is to shoot footage that allows us to cut away from the interview. And we do this using dollies, jibs, cranes, and whatever else it takes (explosives?) to really create a cinematic feel.

Secondly we really try to save cost by not shooting on film. So we shoot in HD and use 35 mm lens adapters to recreate what 35 mm looks like. Since we can use film lenses we can really focus our audiences attention directly on the person being interviewed. We call it shallow depth of field. You’ll notice how the person is in focus and everything else it out of focus. This is a very important aspect of what we do.

Lastly we did some green screen work to embed into Crowe’s website. Shooting in HD really gives us the ability to get a great “key.”

We really encourage companies to take a strong look at advertising themselves through video on their websites.

This is a perfect example of how it can look.
